Sorry if this has been asked or covered before...
I would like to find one of the "Mini Bike Sling Sacks" for the Smooth Hound but it is listed only under the "Global Accessories" on the Dahon site. Is there a dealer in the U.S. that stocks, or can easily get such things? What I am looking for is at...
http://www.dahon.com/intl/accessories/luggage/minislingsack.htm
My other option would be to make, or have something made, and if someone has experience with the best materials to use, that would be helpful as well.
Thanks in advance.

You are invited to my Web sites to see the bags that I made for both the bikes and it's owner. I have detailed instructions on the best fabric to use and how to construct them-including free jpeg patterns to do it yourself or have a local tailor/seamstress do it. These bags are designed for the first time sewer as well as the most advanced one. I am in the process of releasing more ideas and patterns in the near future on another Website completely devoted to this. So keep checking with me.

I'd also be interested in finding some place that carries "global accessories" and is either in the US or will ship to the US. I want one of their Joule dyno hubs. I realize that the Schmidt hub is much better, but it's going to be a long time before I can swing $300 for a hub.

Just remember that the Joule hub for dahons has a smaller OLN than a Schmidt, which will be 100mm. So unless you can get a Scmidt with Dahon spacing, you must use the Joule for Dahons.

Schmidt and others offer Dahon spacing.

Folder_fanatic,
Sincere thanks for the help and the info. It does indeed look like making something is the way to go at this point. I guess I will start taking some measurements and look around for materials. I need the material to be strong, puncture resistant (from front forks and such, though I might figure around that somehow) as well as relatively light and foldable. Sounds like a trip to the giant fabric and material store is in order.
Thanks again for the help. Much appreciated.

Absolutely. Peter White has the SON20XS with 100mm OLN and it's $275 for the hub alone. That's why I will have to continue to use the AA battery powered lights that I already have unless I can find someone who can sell me the Joule here in the US.
I don't doubt that the Schmidt is worth every penny but I don't have that much to devote to that purpose right now or in the near future.
