A bike shop near me is closing out their pre-08 transition line, and I got offered a 2005 Transition Comp for $1700. Is this a bike worth buying at this price?
specs are here:

Thanks!

Looks like no, even if it's new or close to new. The same bike "only rode 3-4 times" recently sold on ebay for under $800 -

I'd say don't offer them over $1000?

I'd say maybe $1200 would be a fair price. Transitions are really nice, but $1700 seems like a bit too much for an 05.
If you have the money, I'd definitely go with an 08 Transition.

Here is a 2007 Transition Comp for $1740...http://www.thebikerschoice.com/instock_specialized_triathalon.htm
Sure there would be shipping, but 2 years newer for the same price. I agree with the others, $1700 is too much...

You've all been a great help. I think I'm going to steer clear of this bike for now, unless I can get closer to the $1000 price point.
Thanks again!
