Fifty Plus (50+) - Waterford Road Sport Touring frame tubing: RS-33 or RS-22

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

... for 30+ mile club paved road rides, 30+ mile club dirt road rides, and for credit card tours.

The rider is 5'3", has pubic bone height of 76 cm, and weighs between 150-160 lbs. Rack bosses for a rear rack is preferred ... for 15-20 lbs of weight being carried by the rear rack.

If you could, please let us know why you picked one tubing over the other.

If I was going for the lightest, fastest steel bike I could build, it would be the 33 and the S3 tubing. But for a bike that will carry a triple crank, a rear rack, wider tires and will see dirt roads, 853 or OX Platinum tubing would be perfect. And you get lugs :)

I just don't see an advantage in this application to offset the higher price. If money is no object, donate the difference to a local cycling advocacy group.
