Fifty Plus (50+) - Interested in Bike Touring?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I usually hang out on the touring forum. However, in addition to enjoying bike touring, I am over 50 so I thought I'd look in.
The reason I'm popping in here is to let you know about a website that I've created called www.biketouringtips.com.
The idea behind the website is to create an indexed, on-line bike touring archive of useful websites, discussion topics, personal insights, and travel journals. The archive is indexed by location and topic and can be searched by either or both. Currently, the archive has over 400 entries on over 60 countries.
The archive is designed so that anyone can enter information into it after a free registration.

Wow, thanks for doing this. I am thinking about riding the Icefields Parkway in Canada in a couple of years, and the info you catalogued will be very helpful when I finally get around to planning the trip.

Welcome to the 50's group.
I like your site....lots of good information available from one place.
Have you considered adding a category for supported tours such as the rides across states, etc? I'm looking for a site that has this type of information for those of us who prefer supported touring.
Beverly,
The archive already has a touring company section. They are listed as a sub-topic under Tour Planning.
Here is a direct link to that page (http://www.biketouringtips.com/searchTips.html?country=&state=&place=&id=Tour%20Planning&subtopic=15.7).
If you find touring companies that you particular like, please register (for free) and add them to the archive!
Thanks for all the kind words and checking out my site!

I bookmarked your site and will check it out.
I checked it out and nothing came up for Texas.
George,
Thanks for checking out www.biketouringtips.com.
Here is the only link for Texas (http://www.biketouringtips.com/searchTips.html?country=United%20States&state=Texas&place=&id=&subtopic=)--it points to a discussion on the Touring board here at bikeforums.net.
Can you provide me with some good Texas sites? Or, better yet, enter them yourself? All you have to do is register for free and you can help build the archive!
Thanks,
Ray
