Pacific Northwest - A snowy ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

No, not me, but when I was tooling around yesterday I saw a full kitted roadie as the snow was falling around Millcreek. No, I did not get the urge to join him.
And wasn't it suppose to turn to rain today? Well what's that white stuff falling from the sky then...

It's rain here--albeit very COLD rain. The rain has not yet melted all the snow here. I'm going to try going out later (warmly dressed, mind you) and see how it goes.
Gotta give that man credit!

We ended up with 5" of snow. It is going to take a while for the slush to melt. Looks like a trainer day.

HMMMM nothing but rain down here in the South Sound. We had a few flurries on Saturday but it didn't last. Some of the higher hills. Think Bonney Lake and probably Buckley and Enumclaw got some snow but I'm not sure if it stuck. I had to make a run to Mclendon hardware a few minutes ago. Thanks to CC Filson and Co. I stayed nice and dry. But then I was in the truck not on the bike, does that make me a rain weenie?

No, you must protect your beautiful bikes at all costs!

Thanks EH for understanding. Now I could have taken my commuter out but my problem is with the rain my glasses get all messed up and trying to look out over the top of them does me no favors

We've had a few inches here and now the snow showing is now turning to rain.
I want to the gym last night, only about ten people in there...sweeet.
I think it's going to be indoor trainer weather for a while.

We got snow in Olympia. It's now mostly slush (in my neighborhood) on the streets, snow on the grass. I'm not sure what to expect for tomorrow's commute in Seattle, other than extra layers. And, hot chocolate at arrival. :)

I managed to get in about 30 miles yesterday... brrrr! Even bundled up with two pairs of socks and neoprene booties my toes still got cold. Even though, it was a good ride, dry roads and no precip.
The snowflakes started just as I sat down on the front porch to 'un-bundle'. Sweet timing!
Feeling all couped up from the weather the kids ( in trailer) and I just tooled on down to the grocery store, man is it nasty out there. The trailer acted like a sail and the rain came in sidways around my fairing. Fun but kinda nice to be out of it. Tomorows commute should be interesting.

It snowed yesterday in Burien, but it didn't stay around long. Today was all rain. I spent the entire weekend working in my wood shop, so I didn't miss anything. I did remember to clean and lube the bike for tomorrow, though.
They're calling for a windy ride in tomorrow, but it'll be from the south so it'll be a tailwind to me! Maybe I can get my tank up above 15 on the flats! I just hope it dies down before I come home. I hate 30 MPH headwinds.
