Does anyone have any experience buying wheels from this place? Web-site looks legit but the prices seem almost to good to be true.

I've heard only good, never bad, about Colorado Cyclist. However, I find their prices to be high.

That's been my experience also. I've not gotten any wheels, but I have ordered from them and their service has been excellent every time.
... Brad
I've only had excellent service/communication from them.

Really? High? I have no experience with them, but have found a set of Dura Ace hubs laced to DT Swiss 1.1's for about the price of a set of the DA hubs alone (let alone spokes, nipples and skewers). I wonder if these are seconds or if there's some other reason they're so cheap?

No such thing as factory seconds with machinery. If it's flawed, it will be melted down and casted, milled, or stamped again.
Haven't bought anything recently from them, but I have in the past. Nothing but an enthusiastic 'two thumbs up' for that outfit. Another catalog place to also consider is Excel Sports, also from Colorado. I bought a Build Kit from them and they, too are very helpful, honest, and responsive.
Totally legit and recommended.
One of the best out there. Prices are competitive. Not the best at responding to comments at times.
I have been quite pleased with my purchases from them. On some items, they can be very competitive on price, especially with the specials.
I got the Ultegra/CXP33 wheels a couple years ago. They are still true. And the wheel prices are very good.
I tried to order a complete rear wheel- CPX33/Ultrera with tube/tire. After 3 weeks of waiting I emailed them and was told that everything but the spokes and nipples where on back order. I then called them and said the website listed everything as in stock. When told this they said that they don't update the back order info often enough. When asked why I wasn't told that things where on back order I was told it wasn't their policy to do so. I canceled my order and went with another outfit and judging buy the email AND the phone call I also received my SET of wheels (-tube/tires) for 10$ more then CC was selling them for will be here tomorrow.
these guys bungled my order, over 3 weeks go by, and it never shipped despite my calls. of course, they still charged me 400 dollars, and a week after cancelling the order they still havent credited my account. trying to resolve it over the phone was like talking to defiant moron. bad experience....:troll:
i just had a bad customer service experience with them. took several phone calls, had multiple delays, and the people on the other end of the phone were not friendly. ended up canceling my order after weeks of incompetence.
If you used a credit card call them and request a chargeback, you have 60 days.
Any update? Care to share some details of what transpired?
I brought a set of wheels a few weeks ago, I waited a week or so and then emailed them to get a status on them, they emailed back and said OH we did not have the spokes in stock , I said WTF why didn't you call/email me, I then changed my order to set of wheels with spokes they did have, Overall took 3.5 weeks
to get them from when ordered, I don't think I would buy from them again, The sad thing is I was recommended to them from here at the forums

This is almost the same story I had. I waited 3 weeks then called them. I was told that the only thing they had of mine was nipples and spokes. Everything else was on back order. They acted surprised when I canceled my order. I told them that if I had been told what was going on I would have changed my order a little; possibly upgraded to something better that was in stock. I also went there based on my readings in this forum. In the end I went with another company and had the same wheels in my hands in 3 days with normal shipping cost.
I guess not much I can do to help anyone here, as it sounds like there's a definite pattern, and it's too late for them to win back your business.
if theres a problem with an order, an email or phone call should fix it. i wasnt ever notified that there was a problem, twice i called to resolve it and after 3 weeks cancelled the order and gave up. good internet sales give a ship date or estimated ship date. if there is a problem with the order or an item is out of stock/back ordered then the purchaser should not be charged and be promptly notified. most people wont mind if something is delayed as long as they are kept up to date.
