Pacific Northwest - rain street tires for Seattle weather

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Now that it's cold and wet here in Seattle. I would like to use my mt. bike for commuting. Any suggestions on good rain street tires? This will be for a mountain bike 26" wheels.

When I needed to convert my MTB to city use, I chose Conti TravelContacts
You may want to consider TopContact Winters:
The TopContact Winter was designed for use in fall and winter. The tread compound contains sharp-edged granules, creating additional high-grip edges on the tread surface.
available in following dimensions:

I've got almost 2,600 flat-free miles on my Schwalbe Marathon+ tires. 26 x 1.75, semi-slick (rain siped), reflective sidewall. They're heavier than most tires, but you can ride over darned near anything and not worry about getting a flat.

+1 great tires you can run over just about anything with them. Another little bonus is the reflective sidewalls.

It is often cold and icy during my 17-mile morning commute, so this year I am using Schwalbe Marathon Winter tires (26x1.75, 200 studs, reflective sidewall) on my Surly Long Haul Trucker. All the benefits of the Schwalbe Marathon product line and no more worries about black ice!
