Texas - DFW Holiday Get-Together Dec 28th 6:30pm

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
EDIT: DATE SET
December 28th, BJ's Pizza Addison (approx Beltline @ Addison Rd., for those not of the immedate area that's to the north west a bit of 635 @ Dallas North Tollway.)
Time: Let's shoot for 6:30. Should give most people enough time to get off work and head out. If anyone needs more time we can push later. Just please let me know.

Gingerman is big enough for MANY riders, including bikes if you want to lock up to the fence at the sidewalk (Sunday night riders have done this successfully with about 60 of us). I'm in for any weekend night, even the 7th.
On re-reading the above, g-man does not have tables (for big groups) except out on the patio which is heated when cold. Sometimes they have live music out back, too. But no swimming pool or basketball hoops. It's a beer place, I don't recommend the food...fatty, salty stuff suitable for drinking more. Except the tamales used to be good.
I'm teaching the 21st (evening session) so thats out for me.
other than that anytime anyplace.

I vote for BJ's. I prefer a Friday evening/night.
How about Friday the 28th?
Anyone not good with that date? Should be fair enough ahead of new years, but far enough after christmas.

I'm off work that whole week. Works for me.
Sounds good BJ's has Magic Beers, as in after three I am magically drunk

I'm in! BJ's in Addison...we been there before? Or was that the pizza place?

We've been to the BJ's before (in fact it was the location of the first DFW meet and greet and always a good option in my opinion.
For those considering riding in, be warned that Belt Line has a a lot of traffic, but the restaurant isn't far from Inwood / Addison road which would be a good road to cut up from the south on. There is some construction on Addison Rd north of Beltline, but there are probably some decent detours around that as well.

Works for me. They had better not be out of their IPA this time - last time I was in Lewisville they were out.
Ok, lets set the 28th so we can start making plans to be there. Edited first post.

Even though I'm not a BF regular... marking my calendar :)
Hey Matt, look forward to seeing you there.
Will there be a sign that says "Bike Forums Group" at the table? lol
lol, depending on the size of the group, we'll probably be in the large group room off on the left hand side of the resturant (if you're looking at the front of the place from the front door). Anyone who wants my cell number can PM me for it, and I'll try to remember to wear my Campagnolo cycling cap! ;)

Woot Lewisville! Someone sorta local to Double Oak who might know where it is without google maps :D
edit: pst it's just Southwest of 407/2499 ;)
I will be there with flyboy. Look forward to meeting everyone and having a couple beers.
Hope to meet some people close to us.

I know the cross streets, but can't say I've ever seen a city limit sign for Double Oak in my travels out that way. I look forward to meeting all the new members and getting to have a few beers with them and the long standing members around these parts as well. :)

Cool! It is a pretty nice area and reminds me a bit of where I grew up in Connecticut. Oh and if you ever see this very out of place for double oak little house next to the fire station/town hall

With an even more out of place solar hot water heater (picture form when it was under construction)

Thats where I live with my bike commuting wife, she has 4 bikes to my 1 though :( I'm hoping to ride over to BJs on my way home on the 28th but I plan on making it even if I have to drive :)

It is weird alot of new folks and delivery/service folks don't realize it is a house. Not sure exactly what they think it is but someone asked me what I did there once like it was some kind of water sub station.
Right in front of our house is this little sign under the stop sign I think we have three of them around town. They have actually pulled me over for rolling a sign on my bicycle at 4am. :(

*rim shot*
Rolling on a bike at 4am, that's lame. Even cross timbers can't have that much traffic on it at that time in the morning!!

Besides myself and the police officer I don't think there was another vehicle on the road in the whole town :) Which is probably why he turned his sirens on and caught me before I escaped into flower mound. He did say he was only concerned about my safety
One more week to go, Im pumped.
Beer, Bikes and BJ's what more could I ask for?

They better have root beer!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean not that I'm going just for the rootbeer or anything ;)
Last time it was flat :(
I may have to stop on the way and smuggle in some Mug rootbeer just in case.

Last time I was there the Root Beer was fantastic. (I was driving).
Sound be a fun get together, everyone can brag about what bike bling they got for Christmas from family, or them selves! :D By the time we have a couple of beers every jersey will have cost twice as much and every new gadget make us go twice as fast!

Nice out of context quote there.
All that Im saying is that I like BJ's. Whats so wrong with that?:D
Richardson/Plano/Dallas (where they all meet). If you know where Richardson Bike Mart is (the Richardson location), then I live about 3 blocks from there.
