GOOD GUESS

Sweet.

One suggestion though, can we have rack mount capability for those of us that want to use it as a commuter/touring bike?

Why? It is only 10 gms more than the Ritchey specced post which probably the weight of the clamp to hold a stanard post. Unless you bought the frame only and are going for ultralight?

Dammit! Apparently the address you send to BD in your initial ordering email means nothing. According to Lindsey they only ship to the paypal confirmed address. Busted.

(my first post).

For those of you interested - RT700 bikes appear to be getting ready to ship.
I got payment notification this morning, and after paying, I got some preliminary info via UPS.

Tentative delivery date is this friday at the earliest. I guess it *is* February now :-).

For reference, I ordered my complete RT700 back on 12/21/07.

My RT700 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Yippee!

I think I'll pass on the seatpost. For me, it'll amount to not much more than bling factor, which is not worth $120.

Just cause it looks like there are people searching...

In my opinion the best 31.6 post for the money...
Kcnc Ti Pro Lite, 162g, $100, http://fairwheelbikes.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_54&products_id=246

32.4 posts - limited choices -
Thompson Elite, 240g, $75
FSA Slk, 280g, $85
Campy Record, 190g, $190

I found a Thompson elite for $55. Cut it should be under 200 grams, but the seatpost size is the biggest drawback of the Evoke.

I was also looking at the Bold TI (http://www.stealthcycling.com/product/BPPOSTTI298X250X18OS/BP_Titanium_Seatpost_298_x_250mm_x_18mm_offset_Siver_clamp__174g.html) - 174 grams before trimming

Bikesdirect uses online Paypal UPS shipping, so they probably generated a whole bunch of tickets for Monday pickup, but the truck load didn't get processed till later today.

Where I live, UPS ground from Dallas is essentially overnight delivery.:)

I hear you. I use them for the stuff I can afford to get from them. This falls into that category. I try as hard as I can, buy a lot of stuff from them, and they are very tolerant of my eBay and Bikes Direct purchases. Everybody's happy.

Without cages or computer -- or wheels, gears, bars, bar tape, shifters, brakes and pedals.
But with cardboard, packing foam and a racking label.

Looking forward to seeing built up RT700 pics / details. On the fringe of ordering an Ultegra group from PBK since they got a compact 170mm in stock right now in it. Gonna be putting Quattro's on mine too, they are about $90 from pricepoint too.

I'm gonna go for a compact too.

Comparable (to BD Fly Ti Hardtail MTB) Colorado Cyclist XTR/Disc MTB build kit without frame or fork: $1863.00. BD complete bike price with Rock Shox fork and Ti frame: $1899. That Rock Shox fork is a $550+ item and I've never seen a Ti hardtail MTB frame for <$600.

That's what I'm talkin' bout. I haven't analyzed the other prices, but I'm confident they are comparably hard to get close to on in the marketplace. The reality is that most hardtail MTBs with similar specs are more like $3500++. Certainly not under $2,000. If anyone finds something to shop against the BD offering, please let me know and post it here.

Dang... I was one of the guys looking forward to the aero seatpost.... I have to agree with my fellow cyclists though... $120 for a seatpost is too much... Especially when you could buy a Thomson Masterpiece for that much (the most kick @ss seatpost out there..... :) )

Does anyone has a suggestion on how to compare the sizes chart between the Moto Ti Team bike to the Litespeed ardennes?

Here is the website on the geometry of ardennes:
http://www.litespeed.com/bikes/2008/ardennes.aspx#

I thought that Mike initially have said that his Moto Ti road bike is similar to the Litespeed Ardennes. After looking into the spec on the Ardennes, I see the their the top tube and seat tube is difference from the Moto Ti.
How is his [MIKE] chart be comparable?

Reason i ask b/c I'm planning to test ride one at my LBS and would like to know which will be the closest frame size to the Moto Ti.

Right now, I'm debating b/w the sizes of 51cmm and 53cm [Seat tube] on the Moto Ti.
I'm afraid b/c the difference in the top tube sizes, I might falsely select the Moto Ti size and ended up with a hair too small of a frame for me. [I based on this by only selecting closest measurement in seat tube only]
Appreciate if someone can share their inputs.

I also had a tough time deciding on what frame size to get. I'm new with all this, so maybe I'm just not used to these things yet, but I had a tough time deciding between the 53 and 56. It seems like those two frames have a much larger jump between them in terms of top tube length. My current bike is a 58cm Trek 5200 with a measured 565mm top tube and I'm running a 90mm stem. Knowing that my bike is a little too big for me, I decided to go with the 53 for its 550mm top tube, and with a longer stem should be a good length for me.

The big thing that I had a hard time with is that the 53 looks almost like a compact geometry frame. Well, at least I assumed that the pictures of the Le Champion Ti are 53cm because the decription references the weight of the 53cm sample. So does that mean that the top tube is really kind of an effective top tube length for that size? If so then I think I'll be OK, otherwise the geometry might be a little short.

My RT700 frame/fork arrived today. I like the copper color more than I thought I would. It came with a Cane Creek headset. Everything looks good! LBS has Campy Chorus group and other parts on order, should get it early next week. I decided to put Fulcrum Racing 3's (black) on it. Also getting Ritchey WCS bar and stem, and an FSA K-Force seatpost (I need a bunch of setback). Fun!
