My 50mm tubular- Campagnolo were Paypal invoiced at $310 rather than the $290 I'd expected. I'm just going to wait for the next e-mail.

Same thing happens in the automotive world- 50 mm Tub, clincher, 38 mm clinchers, then campy and shimano in any of the above. Of course, this only six but I may have missed something. One additional choice adds lots to complexity when it gets trickled down.
Anyway, I sent a note to Lindsay to update my paypal request so hopefully I'll get the proper one tomorrow.

Ok, I just checked my original receipt and the two Paypal invoices I received today, seems I overpaid $20 on each so BD owes me $40 back.
Original pricing
50mm Clincher $528 + 50mm Tubular $398 = $926
Paid deposit of $216 + Two paypal's today total $750 = $966
I am sure Mike and Lindsay will fix this, seems like a very fixable situation.
Now I am confused about this
of coursde its 4am - so I am confused about a lot
Anyway, I thought 50mm was $20 extra
or was Campy Cassette $20 extra?
I can not compare to my prices as I have Shimano v Campy -- wire-on v sew-up -- 38mm v 50mm -- so there are about 8 different prices on my invoice
but either way; whatever we postyed to start with is the correct number
easy to do refunds of $20 or $40 when needed
I'll get with Lindsay on this today
main thing is: I want Karla to start shipping them now
so we can hear how everyone likes them
and so I can hear what people think of using those as oem spec on bikes?
like an immortal with full dura ace and CF sewups? would anyone buy a new bike today with sewups? we used to sell that all the time. I remember selling $300 french bikes with sewups; heck one of my favorite old Raleighs [international] came with sewup and had like a 41 inch wheelbase! I semi touring bike with sewups! Anyway, I am wondering if either type CF wheel is appropriate spec on a stock bike? I'll wait and see how everyone likes these wheels. {by the way - the CF Vuelta wheels we currently sell on Bikeisland are not moncoq - but have done real well}

I don't remember a surcharge being mentioned for Campagnolo, but won't feel cheated if I end up paying it. As I recall the surcharge came in when you made the clinchers available in 50 as well as 38mmn. I'll go ahead and complete payment as invoiced, solely so you can get your feedback,;) But I SWEAR I won't be buying any more stuff no matter how great the deal, you've already made me deviate from my one bike per decade standard. I did successfully resist the Ti road bikes, but the night terrors have been unbearable :D

Looking back I do believe one of them had a twenty dollar surcharge I think it was the 50mm Clincher either way there was an error made I sent my documentation to Lindsay this morning in the form of PDF attachments of the PayPal receipts, to assist her in figuring it out.
Edit: I went back through my email archive of December 07 and found the information, there was a $20 upcharge to go the 50mm clinchers from the 38mm (???), with that new piece of info it appears that I was correctly charged for the Clinchers and overpaid for the Tubulars. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused, December was a long time ago.

VUELTA CUSTOM CARBON FIBER CLINCHER WHEELSET - $528 – this is a special request from forum members; retail would be a lot [about $1500] as this price is close to manufacturing cost. 38mm CF Monocque rim, precision 5 bearing hubs, 20f/24r, 2x, Aero 2.2 butted bladed; factory quoted 1421 grams {I can post sample weight once I see them} Shimano or Campy – please tell Lindsay (expected ship date – Feb)
VUELTA CUSTOM CARBON FIBER TUBULAR WHEELSET - $398 – this is a special request from forum members; retail would be a lot [about $1200] as this price is close to manufacturing cost. 50mm CF Monocque rim, precision 5 bearing hubs, 20f/24r, 2x, Aero 2.2 butted bladed; factory quoted 1561 grams {I can post sample weight once I see them} Shimano or Campy – please tell Lindsay (expected ship date – Feb)
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=356390&page=36
And this is what Mike said referring to the CLINCHERS:
If I can get the 50mm it will be $20 more
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=356390&page=38
So there you have it Mike, the $20 extra was concerning the CLINCHERS, not the TUBULARS, which were set at $398 for 50mm.
So should we wait for a new corrected paypal invoice, or should we just pay the wrong one now and send an email that we need a refund for however much the difference is? Right now my invoice is $330 for 50mm campy tubulars.
Just got my corrected invoice from Lindsay a couple of minutes ago. Paid it immediately so hopefully wheels are here before the end of the week. Woohoo!!!!
Thanks BD!
Ugh!
I'm having problems with Lindsay regarding the final price and the apparent $20 overcharge. She insists
that I am "confused", in that there was a $20 surcharge for Campy AND and a $20 surcharge for the
50mm clinchers.
From her most recent email to me (today):
"I know for a fact there was a $20 upgrade to campy, do you want the wheels or not?"
So she is also suggesting that if I don't pay the additional $20 I won't get my wheels.
Am I wrong here? I don't recall ANY mention that the Campy wheels would be $20 more. I would
have gladly paid the additional amount had the price been stated up front, but now its a matter of
principle.

No mention of an upcharge for the Campy. Something got mixed. Mike, are passing an up-charge from Campy on?

I hope these really are the 50mm Shimano tubular wheels that I ordered. I keep having nightmares of a set of Campy 38mm clinchers arriving at my door!
I'll be glad to see that these things are on the road via UPS...and on my bike...

Got the UPS shipping notice on my wheels. Scheduled for delivery 4/11!
WW- not planning on doing Crowders Mountain. I don't like to drive to ride. Met up with the Bee Team a couple of times a month ago on Saturdays, but you weren't around. Been sick with a respiratory virus for the past few weeks. Been sick with property tax increase resistance last weekend and likely to be next as well.
I got an expected delivery of 4/9, which is tomorrow :). Should give me a chance to get them installed and checked out and the GF has a race this weekend, so she'll be happy to get to use them.

more tomorrow

No problem Mike. I don't think anyone's freaking out, we're just trying to figure this out. If you tell me that the Campy requires a $20 up charge because you'll be losing money otherwise, I'll happily pay it (even though this wasn't the deal). Just tell me what's going on and I'll deal with it.

I have a tracking number from UPS for what I assume is 50mm carbon clinchers (which I ordered and was billed for correctly) that says scheduled delivery is on April 10th. The bad news is that I don't see the package "in flight" yet on their tracking site but no matter. The second my wheels arrive I'll post pics - UPS usually gets here around noon EST.

Agreed, if something has actually shipped.
But has anyone actually received any true Tracking information, or just the "Billing Information Received" line??? All that means is basically they've received a call to make a pickup at some time...

Most wheels are shipping today
and 'movement' on UPS site should be seen tomorrow [their site is a bit behind our scans]
For interest
Bikeisland will be selling these CF wheels for $599 in sewup and $799 in wire-on
and we will see how they move
based on feedback we get; some bikes in 2010 model year may get spec with either of these wheels
I hope everyone loves them

Thanks, I sort of knew when it happened, I was on a group ride and actually gave up and went home 7 miles in. I found out I had 95% blockage on both the left and right sides. A quick trip to the hospital and a few hours in the cath lab and I had two stents. Everything seems ok and I go in for a stress test tomorrow.

That said, I've got a couple of questions about the Ti bikes. You indicated earlier that they should be in by May 15th--is this still accurate? Also, are you guys on top of the order specs so there's no confusion like with the wheels?

Hey Mike,
I meant to ask this a while back, but it slipped my mind. I bought a pair of the 50mm carbon tubulars, with the Shimano-style freehub body. I run both Campy and Shimano, on different bikes, and I'm wondering if your Vuelta hubs will accept both of your freehubs. Or, put another way, can you switch between Campagnolo and Shimano freehubs on the same rear hub? And, if so, do you have any plans to make the Campy freehub available for sale as a seperate item?

I'm with you, but only I ordered Campy. Perhaps we can agree to just ride opposite equiped bikes and just send the bodies back and forth to each other.
Hmm, on second thought, will there be a shimano freehub available? Or do others fit and we can get it somewhere else?
