My dad purchased a new specalized road bike over the summer and he has been looking at wireless computers. I figured I would buy him one for x-mas! He would like the MPh and cadence to be wireless. Any recomendations? Sigma?
Thanks!

I would like to spend around $100. So products in and around that price would be great!!

this is what I have been looking at : http://www.blueskycycling.com/product1926_3_-Sigma-BC-1606-L-DTS-Wireless-w--Cadence-Computer.htm
25% off and it says it comes with the wireless cadance sensor. As it looks like its an add on feature
Make sure whatever you get has coded transmissions so electrical interference doesn't make it all wacky.

Alrite i will have to look and see if they list that.
I was at a bike shop yesterday and the guy told me they don't make wirless cadance. Than if they do, he wouldn't buy it because its to far of a distance for the signal to travel from the bars to the crank that it will be bad?

or how about the CD300DW by cateye? Looks to be user friendly and It states it has the transmissions coded. Also you can disply speed, distance, and cadance all at the same time which is cool

I was going to recommend this one but I figured it was out of your price range. But Amazon has them on sale for $115.99. I would not mind to have one for myself. This unit may be fine but in general I see a lot of people disappointed with their expensive computers. I have a Cataye Astrale 8 that has worked flawlessly for 1.5 years. I think I paid around $30. If it breaks or wears out I may finally try a wireless, as they seem to be getting better. Remember, overhead power lines, high intensity bike lights, heart rate monitors, and traffic loops can cause interference. YMMV.

Here is a review from someone that says they have used a Cateye Double Wireless for 2 years. I am not sure if it is the exact same model, or a previous version.

for what it's worth.... I put a cateye double wireless on my new Vanilla road/tour bike and love it. I bought a second mount and sender unit for my old C'Dale R4000 that I just refurbished so I can use the same computer unit. It is coded and took all of 10 minutes to set up...if you're used to setting up the wired units this was a breeze! It only blinks out under high tension lines and only ofr a few seconds. No other issues, I have about 450 mi on it so far. Side note, I don't ride groups so have no idea about the other computer interference issues. It's also a very clean look and having both cadence and speed sensors in the same unit is a big plus. I think I paid my LBS about $150 or so for it, but I like keeping them around.

I'm happy with my Serfas Three. I particularly like the stem mounting and large numbers.

I'm happy with the cateye double wireless. Only problem is it takes 4 batteries, 2 in the head unit and 2 in the sensor. I have had no interference problem. Only real problem is with all meters. The display font size is too small. Soon I'll have to have prescription riding glasses, ugh. The ability to set a target cadence is really nice and the adjustment of the sensors in the rear is easy.
Don't forget to tell him that if he doesn't like it, then you will reluctantly take it off his hands, sorry no refunds. ;-)
