So it seems that the Look 585 is for sale. The new bike is a much better fit for me. Not as exotic, but a better fit. :D

The big difference is 3cm taller headtube. The top tube is also a few mm longer. I was looking for less saddle to bar drop.

Nice....
why not the Madone?
Several reasons actually. One Im not impressed with the handling on my current Madone. Two, I dont get the same discounts on Trek products. Three my Madone doesnt fit like the Tarmac, but the new models might. Three, Im not a fan of Bontrager stuff. Four, my team is sponsored by Specialized. Five, I got a great discount.:D Six, I dont want two Madones.;)
Oh, did I mention this bike has the same or better parts, and much better wheels for $1000 less?

I ride a 59, and you're a lot taller than I am! Cripes, you musta been cramped!
Sorry I can't buy it - two new bikes in the last year probably blew my "New Bike" kharma with the wife till at least 2009!

Pretty sweet. Did you test ride it? Did it feel much different from the Look?

Ive ridden em, but no real rides. Meaning no good climbs, or what really matters is decents. Thats where the Madone sucks. Too much work to control. The main thing is the fit. The Tarmac has a 30mm taller headtube, so that drop will be much less. Allowing me to ride comfortably in the drops. I checked with some very reliable friends that assured me it decends atleast as well as the Look does. The 08 is also the 8r carbon, so its equal to an 06 Sworks. The feel is just much roomier for me, so Im thinking my breating and comfort will be better, and my hammies wont cramp when in the drops for a long time.

Well not really. I will actually recover some money in this deal. The Tarmac is so reasonable that I can part out the Look and come out ahead. Ive come to realize that the best, fastest, most exotic bike is the one that fits the best.;)

Congrats on the new bike, Sean. :)
Why not the S-works Tarmac? Not that the tarmac itself isn't balls, but from a guy who was bumpin around on a look frame, I was just wondering why not the final dose of bling?

I have come to the realization that all the extra money for that bling will not make me ride any faster. Hence the Tarmac Expert which is the most bang for the buck.:D

Welcome to the club.
I love my Tarmac.
A new bike is always exciting. Congrats on the purchase. On the few BF rides I have been on I don't think I have ever seen you in the drops on the Madone.

I use the drops on the Madone, mostly for decending, but also on flats. Most of the BF rides are pretty mellow and easy for me, no need to use em.;)

Rub what in Trac? Try riding with the guys in my team and you will think the BF rides are easy too.
