Hello all,
My wife is thinking about taking up cycling in the spring of 08. Are there any friendly cycling groups for women, particularly novices?
Thanks

I would check with the local shops as most sponsor and coordinate rides on different levels... the Edmonton Touring club is a nice group of folks, the Dirt Girls are great if you like mtb riding, and the gang at the Commuter's Society (where I volunteer) always seems to be arranging rides of the midnight variety as well as some nice day rides that are suitable for most everyone.
Check out the Dirtgirls. I also know that United had a women's only ride on Wed nights last year - geared to the novice rider. That is mostly MTB though....
For road riding, I agree with the touring club.

Without new members your club will die...
