Thanks. I'm even starting to loose the occasional desire for a cigarette too.

Oh rly?

Lets see (prices are approximates):
1) 6 gal Carboy $25.00
2) 5 lbs of sugar 2.50
3) Stopper and air lock 2.50
4) Yeast - Good Epirnay or Champagne yeast 1.00
5) Yeast Nutrient 1.50
6) sanitizer 4oz Iodopher 3.25
7) Bottles - use old beer bottles
8) Caps - big bag 5.00
9) Capper - 15.00
10) Some 1/2 OD surgical tubing for a siphon (cost will be dependant on how much you get).
11) time about 1 or 2 weeks....no$

total initial outlay - less than $70 for 6 gallons of 10-14% ABV.
Can use a freezer to freeze some of the water out and get a higher ABV if you want.
Next batch will only cost you sugar and yeast as you'll already have most of the supplies.

You're right Modo and Air, at those prices how can I afford NOT to drink?

Still I wish there was a charity to bring liquor to the poor. Something like The Celebration Army or something.
