BMX - If we were in the 80's

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you dressed like that today, you could be an eBay millionaire.
If I can speak as a BMXer from the 80's, most of us actually didn't wear full leathers.
But that doesn't mean we dressed any less silly:

The transition from OP to Vision Streetwear was not easy on all of us.

Did anybody else here buy an original pair of VAN's checkboard shoes in 1983?

Dude, I had the original Tony Alva-designed brown on tan, the blue on blue, and the checkered ones. I like how my favorite Vans are actually called "Old school" by Vans now.
Yes, they were my "must have" for Christmas that year. Out of a class of 13, 6 of us showed up in them.

I am really glad there are no remaining photos of me from 1983.

I don't remember wearing that at all, I remember Vans, Jams and Chuck's. Of course I'm still wearing the Chuck's. And I don't want to forget my t-shirts that had the iron on decals on them, thanks mom.

I've got a vintage set of letters and numbers, I just need to locate a suitable jersey.

If we were in the 80's and on a BMX track I think I could start on the gate backwards and still beat anybody who reads this. :D

Just admit it now. You were born in 1987.
