Specialized brought their 2008 line of bikes out to a local trail today. It was an awesome experience, and I have gained a lot of respect for the company. They fit us and sent us out on the trail. We came back several times. I thought we were annoying them, but they assured us that they came to show off their line.
I test road the cadalac of mountain bikes S-Works Enduro SL on a trail that climbs for days. This bike made it seem like I was chilling on my lazy boy watching the world race by. It was awesome, but it was too comfortable. I need something rigid and nasty... + I don't have 7000 bucks:D

I rode a few other bikes. The one that really stole the show was the 29er stump jumper. That bike was simply amazing and not too costly.

So I'm bragging about all this stuff because the rep said that it was a new program with specialized. They travel all over the country doing shows like this. If you have a bike shop and actually want to test all the stuff you sell, you should email the company.

Nice.. Did they have some kind of satellite tracking on those bikes or what?
I'm not suggesting anything...

Nope. We signed a waiver though. The funny thing was that my buddy and I were doing the blue section of the thunderbird trail for the first time and kept getting lost. We thought they'd be nervious as hell when we finally made it out with their 7000 dollar bikes. They were cool as can be about it though.

They can afford to be.

They were here in both August and September. I rode the SL2 road bike in August and the Roubaix and their mountain bikes in September. I fell in love with the S Works Epic. 2 months later, I found a brand new one a guy had that wanted to trade for a road bike. I had a nice 2nd road bike (2005 Roubaix Pro) and traded that and some cash for the Epic. I'm still amazed at how incredible the Epic is every time I ride it.

Specialized definitely does their homework when building a bike. I'm a big fan.

Ironically, we had trek come to down (amongst other groups) and they forgot a session 10....its amazing what slips your mind when you are a group of 300, with 200 bikes haha

I do believe we were nice enough to call them up and give it back hwoever, wouldn't be good karma otherwise.
