I had never really considered riding in the snow until now. Problem is that I only have slicks, and we have a couple of inches of snow on the ground, so with my current bike is staying in the garage. I have the flexibility to work from home - so yesterday the commute was as long as it took for me to throw on some sweats and go downstairs :D

My current bike is a Giant OCR-2, that has 700x23 tires. As far as I can tell, there aren't any snow tires that are this narrow, and perhaps you wouldn't want them even if they did exist. Thus it isn't clear to me that this bike is really usable in the winter.

I have my old bike, but it has 27"x1-1/8 tires. Finding snow tires in 27" sizes would be even harder.

So that leads me to the question, what are my options? In theory, I could get a 2nd set of tires for the bike, but it isn't clear whether I could get anything wider to fit properly in the frame. There is always the possibility of getting yet another bike - would rather avoid that if possible...
