Foo - Server Nerds and Internet Meme freaks only

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Some internewbs decided to troll one of the forums I help maintain. I keep the server alive, secure, and happy for a friend, but don't really run the forums. Anyhow, I decided to have a little fun, and made it so that anyone who clicked on the trollers' forum link to our forum got instantly rickrolled.
Then I decided to write a quick and dirty article on it. If you don't know what rickrolling is, you fail. Get out. If you don't know what Mod_Rewrite is. Same thing.
If you understand both and feel like having a good laugh:

Actually, I explain rickrolling in the link. So you may still have a good laugh.
:roflmao:
I don't know why, just felt like laughing like a maniac.

Badass, a handful of free internets to you!
hahaha good move.
Have you seen the Tom Green vs 4chan vids on the internet. Those make me want to rickroll tom green.
I can't say I have. Honestly, I typically eschew the places where silly Internet memes tend to gestate. fark, ebaums, 4chan and the like. I'd like to think I'm too mature to spend a lot of time on those places. Honestly, I think I'm just too lazy.
I'll participate a little once a meme gets on a roll. lolcats, all your base, the WTC Tourist guy, and the like.
I recently started seeing what it was about. All of the internet memes originate at Something Awful, 4chan, ebaum's world, and YTMND. You can't say you're too mature to get these things. It's not so much about what the meme even is. It's how it starts and gets to where it is. That's why it's funny. Some of the posters are stupid, but some are funny and clever. Ususally these catch on.
The whole Tom Green thing started when one prominent 4channer called Tom Green's web show and told him to do a barrel roll. Some of the calls he got after that were absolutely hilarious, but most were ********. He also got ******'d on webcam.
No, I *GET* them. And I know where they originate. I just would rather not participate in the daily melee that exists on those sites. I'd rather wait for one of the thousands of bizarre phenomena to take hold and become popular world-wide before I participate in the propagation. Early meme adoption isn't always something to be proud of.
