I was never that unintelligent or completely brain-dead. Or at least I'd like to convince myself of that. It helps me get quality sleep at night.

Hey, Foo-son, glad that book made an impression. It did on me, as well. I have friends who survived Auschwitz (and a friend who grew up in and came from Oswiecim), among other camps, others who lived through it and worked with the Resistance, and others who fortunately escaped the Nazis altogether, including my late husband. If you're interested, I could suggest other books, some Holocaust-related, some related to gulags in the former USSR....

Read it in HS.

Lost a whole branch of my family to the camps. Not Jews though, Romany.:( Night is a very powerful book. The part about his father's death was painful to read.

ok...hang on...ok I am about to give pheard some credit here...ok ready for it...

pheard intentionally stoked fires and pretended to be ignorant...it annoyed the mtb forum to no end and pissed more than enough people off, but he KNEW he was being a jerk/dumbass. You could tell by the way he one day decided, oh **** I wanna be normal. He even posted a thread saying "ok guys, leave me alone I will be normal now" but he was already ****ed with a bad rep. He bordered on being a good troll, but didn't have the maturity to pull it off...
