Okay, winter has finally arrived and my trainer is set up. I have vowed to work on my upper body and core strength in addition to all the spinning. In the back of my mind, I hear a little voice that tells me that some weight training would be a good thing. While I have a gym in town, for convenience sake, I am looking for some type of home gym. I have a chance to pick up a virtually new Soloflex for an extremely reasonable price. While $350 won't break me, I would like a little feedback on whether a resistance type gym is worth it, or should I just stick to the basic core exercises. Anybody here actually used a Soloflex?

Soloflex sucks period... $350 is pricey ... I couldn't get rid of mine at $150 all attachments... I would never buy these things ever again. I only use it for pull-ups these days.
Plus didn't the manufacturer stop making soloflex and switch over to Bowflex years ago?

The simplicity of it is what gave it so much appeal to me. Then I tried my neighbor's one and was very disappointed. It's hard to really describe why I disliked the feel of it so much.

Thanks for the input. Sounds as if I should step back, try one out for awhile and then make a decision. I suppose I really knew that, but sometimes you just need a good face-slap to put things in focus...
