Show-off! Very nice; saw those cranks in person at the shop the other night and they are a thing of beauty.

If you notice, it looks like there are two rh levers, but the one in front is the left, upside down. They are actually swapable, but the adjuster is only on one side.. I think you can just take it out and flip it over.

3x is a good idea with disc brakes, due to the braking forces being transmitted through the hub to the wheel.

Should be about 1675g.

Yeah, radial would seem scary for discs, although I have no experience with this. Every wheel I have ever built I just stayed safe with tried and true three cross.

By the way, mcoine, excellent choice on parts. Nice on the gold nipples.

You dog.......:p

Looks great.

Anyone know if those levers will fit Juicy Sevens and if so where you can get them?

I dont see any reason why they wont - however take that humbly, i dont know too much about the higher end Avids. Shout out to SRAM/Avid for the lever blades, i know that.

FSA and DT reds complement the siding; and frame contrasts well. Concrete gives a 'washy' appearance to the frame where the tile had good contrast; but the color's truer with the camera balanced for outdoor light.

:D

Seriously, nice build; looks like it'll be fun. Especially with no snow.
(note: that swingarm protector looks like it should have its own Zip code :) )

Thanks.. I'll probably take it out to the local trails today for its maiden voyage.. oh the sun just popped out of the fog!

I'm thinking I will take those big blue fox stickers off the fork.. what do ya think?

MattP, what are you getting?

MattP, what are you getting?

Thinking about an 07 Prophet MX1 w/ Talas RC2. Taking it out on the trail tomorrow, it's a small, which I normally wouldn't go for, but it's a screaming deal, and I think if the frame size bugs me that much, I'll sit on it and wait for someone who may want to trade for Medium 5-6" frame.

I'll know tomorrow :D

That is a super nice looking crank. I've always admired FSA's cranks. Problem is, too many stories about the legendary crank arm falling off. Has anyone had any problems with their MTB offerings?

I took it out yesterday for its first ride.. this bike is so much fun.. at least 10 times as fun as my last bike.

I don't think my climbing has suffered at all on this bike compared to the hardtail, but on the downhills and flats this bike is much faster and easier to control.

I've gotten pretty good at picking lines over the last almost 20 years of mountain biking.. but yesterday, I found myself actually picking crappy lines on purpose... what a blast.

I didn't get any action shots, but here it is again in its natural habitat, minus the fork stickers..

They now come with a thread locking glue which you apply to the right arm/spindle interface. The arm was pretty tight going on, I can't imagine it coming off.

Nice setup you got there.

Must admit I like it MUCH better without the stickers. Inspired to take the stickers off the Marzocchi on my FS bike, which were never stuck very good to begin with. Besides, do we need to advertise for them or try to look cool? I sure don't.

Natural habitat- where do you like to ride in Oregon? I'm here in OlyWa, would be interested in alternatives to Bend for when I'm down that way next.

I'm in Grants Pass. I've got some local trails that are decent for the everyday riding. If you want to do some nice riding down this way check out Oakridge, about a half hour east of eugene, and just west of willamette pass ski area. I haven't ridden there yet, but I will be checking it out this spring hopefully.

For more info on Oakridge:

I think i will take the stickers off my fork, not only for aesthetics, but to hide the fact i actually ride a DropOff IV

Came out looking nice. I just put FSA K-Force Light cranks on and love them. You are right that arm did fit tight. Now you need a matching K-Force seatpost.
