i have a chance to buy an IF cross frame. it's a 54 cm with a standover of 83cm and top tube at 57.5 cm.

i'm 5'8" with about a 30 inseam. would this fit?

thanks.

If that is an effective TT measurement of 57.5 inches. That is a pretty big bike.

For example, I am 6 foot with a long torso and my road bike only has a 57cm effective top tube.

that will be way to big for you.. I'm 6' with a 33" inseam and had an IF size 54 and it was snug on me, I just had a 53 built this year and it is fine, but would still be too big for you.. I run a 56.5 TT as well, a 57.5, and you'll be stetched out like superman flying.. IF uses a tall BB height, so a 54 is kinda decieving if you go on frame size alone.. I'm thinking you'd probably ride a 50 in their bikes..

IF sizes their bikes center-to-center, most other makers size them center-to-top, so the 54 is like someone else's 56 or 57.

IOW too big.

I match your height and inseam exactly. I'm riding a Salsa Chili 48cm. You can compare the dimensions from the website. Standover was my big issue, but it fits fine. Top tube is a little short but you can adjust w/ your stem length.

Here's the link for dimensional comparison.
