yep, just two weeks ago I thought Id get an early start on the shopping and I came back with a pair of new sunglasses instead:o

Back when I did xmas shop, I'd always buy something for myself. It was the only way I'd get exactly what I wanted.

Now that we don't 'do' xmas anymore but rather just buy each other special gifts thru out the year, we're usually with each other and we know what it is the other wants.

For example, we were in Jo-Anne Fabrics back in September and my SU said "Oh, the sewing machine I want is on sale!" I said, "Oh, let's put it in the cart."

I wanted a Brooks saddle for my Sierra, but didn't have enough cash socked away and was mopeing about it. She said "Order it." and she paid for it.

IMHO, this beats xmas hands down.

O.K. I can't say I didn't do it.

Yesterday, I went to L.L. Bean's "flagship" store in Freeport, ME to get a start on Christmas shopping for several members of my family.

I ended up buying myself a new pair of snowshoes, something I didn't plan on doing beforehand.

I completed my shopping by getting the gifts to give to my family,

With all the cold weather and early snowstorms here in Maine, I'm sure I'll enjoy using the snowshoes very much.

Oh, yeah... it's why I try to do it all online. Otherwise I spend too much time in "my" departments.
