So, Salsa tells me last night (12/7) that he's going to the Winter Dance (12/8) and needs black dress pants and a red sweater, because everyone's supposed to dress that way.... I think, nice warning, kid!

We go 18 miles to the local Walmart to get pants & sweater.... no 32x34 or more pants - no red sweaters. Travel another 30 miles down the road to K-Mart - ditto. End up in Charleston at the mall(another 25 miles), mission FINALLY accomplished for $60.

Now he won't let me take a picture of him!!!

POOH on 15 year olds!!

You won't find pants at a Wal*Mart with a waist measurement smaller than the inseam. Probably no shortage of 48 x 30 pants there. Heck, even at most department stores I have a tough time with an equal inseam and waist. It's either short and fat, or rail thin (I saw plenty of 28 x 36 when I was shopping this morning. Seriously, 28 x 36?)

I beg to differ. I've found 32x34's before at the W*M near me before. Got to say, never noticed a 28x36, and you're right, *puzzled*.

(wants to get back into 32x34's again, currently up to 34x34...)

Isn't that the dress code Nazi Germany followed for their christmas gatherings? I would look into that one.

Walmart IS good for 32x34 if you're buying jeans.... I have to wonder about what those chinese think about 46x32 pants....

But even at JC Penny, 32x34 was an ordeal - ended up with cuffed pants & ripped the cuff tac to iron out that extra inch. I am the short person (at 5'11") in my family - 5 bros ranging from 6'2" to 6'6", so I'm adept at finding these sizes, but NOT with 1 day notice!!
And, X-link, the school colors are red, white & black; he could have worn a white sweater, but I nixed that idea because we have iron soaked water...

It's really (not that) weird, but I generally know more about the last trail he's ridden than what goes on at school. He says the dance was ok. If it had been a MTB race, I'd know about every mud slog & rock. So it goes.
