well after taking my bike into the shop...it would cost around 200 dollars to fix everything...and i only paid 300 for the bike...it was a raliegh m50 2003 bike....so i decided to get a trek 4500 06 model for 400 dollars...i'll post some pics as soon as i can!

I'd leave the dork disc on until you get used to riding the bike.

The dork disc is easily removed once you remove the cassette. Requires a special tool and probably not worth the effort.

If it's plastic, take a pair of dykes and carefully cut through it radially until you can snap it off.

If you do this just be carefull you dont cut or damage anything else. I reckon the dork disk is fine, some people think it looks a bit dorky though :o
