Fifty Plus (50+) - lit the fuse

I can't say "pulled the trigger" because I have to wait till Feb for delivery.
But I put down money on a Kestrel RT700 frameset as part of the deal offered over in Road by Bikesdirect

$ 808 was just too good a price to pass up. I'll end up swapping all my Ultegra parts (and American Classic wheels) from my current bike and selling that frame.
Maybe if I can sell my old Cannondale Black Lightening and maybe my other old bike I won't be out of pocket too much....

Fantastic looking frame. The colouring may not be to everyonse tastes but DG will just have to be upset about it.

What size would that black lightning be and will you be disposing of the frame or just the whole bike? More details Curtis, enquiring minds want to know.

That frame looks better live than on screen. It's really more copper than orange. I'd have preferred the black/gray carbon version, but not enough to spend hundreds more or it.
Still, I think I'll get used to it...

I've seen a somewhat similiar color scheme on a new Bianchi, (luludogs (John) Looks super! I think Orange is the new yellow! ;)

My favorite color combo on a bike is metallic orange with silver trim. I've seen a couple of bikes in this color combo that made my heart skip a beat.

No, I rode my Motobecane SL 10 speed i got early this year. The Cannondale was my bike till then. It's a got downtube shifters that do friction, 6 speed or that new fangled 7 speed click shifting. It i srock solid and may be just a bit too solid for my agingness.

I got it when it came out. It was amazing how much comment it got. It looked SO very odd next to Columbus and Reynolds tubing.

But I'm looking forward to a softer ride now, and his oughta be it.

I'm standing on the verge of clicking "buy now" in that group deal. Wrestling between the RT700 & Evoke-
what size did you order? I also ride 53's on my current bikes, but the semi-compact Evoke might throw that off.

I'm getting the 51.My oldest bike (photo in thread above) is a 53. I'm currently riding a Motobecane SL in 52. If you wade through the thread in stickies over in rod there are links to fitting sites with calculators I did all the measurements and came up with 51cm, which is what the BD guy suggested.

Thanks, I'll do that. I went to measure my Litespeed this morning, but all the tapes I have are inches- no metric! Off to the hardware store.
That RT700 is looking better everytime I check on it....

Save your money. There are at least 14 zillion conversion sites on the web. Measure, then convert.
