pretty neat, but i've never been as impressed with the flying squirrel suits as with the jet-powered wing deal (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dST-a5IU_h4).

Both innovations are FANTASTIC. Notice neither of these were in the U.S., probably due to over regulation of anything that pretty much eliminates cutting edge innovation in aeronautics.

:roflmao: Siu, you are so cute. ;) I +1 that! :D But it's really cool to look at for sure.

That's really intense...

I like the squirrel suit though because I think it would give me the feeling of flying like a bird. Flying over trees and streams...

I wonder what the learning curve is on something like that? It's not too different than free falling out of an airplane.

Thats a wild video. I have a few friends who are into base jumping and they say the squirrel suits are amazing. I've been on El Cap and been woken up in the morning by jumpers going off at first light. It makes an incrediby loud sound when the blow their chutes. Anyway, the learning curve on this stuff is more then a little steep. Absolutely zero room for mistakes. If you have any doubts, just peruse this list and it might help you make up your mind.

This was on "World News" on TV last evening. Now they're talking about being able to glide w/o the parachute some day. They would just use the suit to glide in to a landing (possibly flare to a landing on their feet?). Sheesh!

Ya won't catch me base jumping in the first place!
