Good news - today's visit to the Urologist was just a preliminary consultation - not the vasectomy, so Sunday's 106k audax ride is ON :D :D

Bad news - my appointment for the actual operation is . . . wait for it . . . Monday 10th June 2002 !!!!! Bloody 9 months away. :irritated :irritated

You read all about waiting lists on the NHS but, come along.

If my wife gets pregnant before then I'm-a gonna sue somebody!!

I wouldn't worry - I've lost count of the number of comments I've had from co-workers about cycling lowering your sperm count :D

Wow! June 2002?!?! Alot could happen between now and then...

I guess I'll consider myself lucky...my hubby's snip job is in ... T-minus 3 hours and 5 minutes.

Woo hoo!!!

So, what recovery times have you heard (before resuming cycling)?

More importantly, how long before da boyz are done emitting "dangerous" spooji?

His doc told him one week off the bike. I don't think he has a clue the amount of time a serious cyclist spends in the saddle.

So, is this love or what...not only is my guy making this ultimate sacrafice, but he insists that I go on the group ride with out him tomorrow!

Roxy - 72 days need to pass before firing blanks. Here in the UK they do a test at 3 months and 3.5 months, so its still full mac and wellies till then.

Cable Donut - its perverse but I'll happily share issues about things that other people consider v. personal - like my bollocks, yet I'm shy about other things people consider trivial.

Also in this case thanks to the interface known as the saddle, bollocks and bike forums are closely entwined :D

From what I've heard about the health system in this country, if I broke my leg cycling tomorrow, I don't think I'd even bother going to see a doctor. In the three years I'd have to wait to get into a hospital, it would probably heal naturally anyway.

Heah. My wife broke a bone in her left arm in a cycling accident in Spain. The service was excellant. Even if we were not covered.
