Went mtbing today and basically the bike flipped out from underneath me... im fine. I looked at the bike and just sorta gave it a shakedown. everything seems normal. now i do something stupid. I continued riding it even though i didnt give it a good look. I get to the bottom just as i get into the parking lot i cant pedal, somethings stuck. I look down and i thought I had lost the casing to derailur. I go back up looke for 15 minutes when I come back down I realize the derialur was completly flipped upside down. Now the bottom part gets stuck in the spokes partly and when i roll the bike the thing does a complete twist? can anyone offer me advice on what to do and whats wrong? thanks guys

remove derailur from spokes. get a new derailur. install. enjoy

I'd add checking the alignment of the derailleur hanger on the bike; hopefully you have a replacable hanger should it be bent or sheared off. The derailleur itself may be fine...take it to your LBS and have them check it out for you.

if its upside down im guessing the hanger and the derailur are cashed. your LBS can help you more than we can

Can you take a picture of it and post it? Can't really help w/o seeing what's wrong.

hey. Here are some pics. I am going to bring it to my LBS but just curious to see what you guys think is the problem and maybe if it would be cheaper to fix myself

remove the derailer, go with a single cog, and go singlespeed :)

Sounds like a good excuse for an upgrade ;)
