In general, "Masi fanatics" and "Nuova Strada" don't belong in the same sentence. Nuova Stradas were outsourced bikes not of interest to the Masi cognoscenti. It's partly a quality issue, and partly the fact that the Nuovo Strada and Gran Corsa were price-point models, and as such were disconnected from the classic Masi framebuilding operation. Doesn't mean they don't have value (though some were apparently poorly built), but they don't command the usual Masi premium. I'm sure the bike is built with good quality tubing, but IMO, it's not a "Masi" in the sense that Masis are worth collecting. It may well be worth the opening bid price, and probably would be a nice rider. So I'm not suggesting that someone who would treat it as a nice rider should be deterred.
