Is the Kona that much of a better bike?

kona kula 29er is a awsome rig. The slinding drop outs make it able to go SS if you wanted. Solid build on it. If anything upgrade the wheels to a lighter set.

Whats SS? Is teh Kula worth the extra $800 though? That's a huge difference.

SS=Single speed or one gear. Without looking at the specs I'd just guess there is some reason for the difference... maybe better parts? Magical metal that repels bullets? Instant sex appeal? Most likely the more expensive bike has more expensive parts, probably suspension ( fork, rear shock?) I'm just guessing here because I am waaay to lazy to go look at the Kona specs. It could be the frame contains a magical fairy that grants wishes. That would make the most sense.

The XCal has a much better fork and arguably better wheels. Similar spec otherwise. I'd say the Kona is way overpriced and I'd get the Fisher.
