I have a Dorcy flashlight that takes two CR123 batteries. The bulb is
the 2 pronged filament bulb spaced like this ------> :

I bought rechargable batteries for the flashlight and it turns out they are
3.8v each instead of 3.0v. This burnt out the bulb instantly.

So, is there a replacement, filament or LED, for this flashlight?

www.dorcydirect.com They sell replacement parts including bulbs. Just maybe not for your item. Contact them.

Checked it, it seems the voltage is only 4.8V bulb for a 6v-7.8v set
of batteries.

Since you mention using two rechargeable cells with 3.8 V each, I am assuming that you got a set of Li-ion cells. If you insist on using these cells, then you will need a bulb built for around 7.6 V. Such a bulb might be hard to find nowadays. I would try sites like bulbsdirect.com and such. There are quite a few 6 V bulbs, but I'm not sure about 7.6 V ones. Trying to send 7.6 V through a 6 V bulb was probably what caused the instaflash. Come to think of it, you might want to check carleylamps.com to see if they make bulbs with the dimensions you want. They don't typically sell to individuals; however, I hear that candlepowerforums.net has group buys every once in a while that you can join.
