I posted in the road forum a few weeks back about riding in CO in Denver. But I just noticed this regional forum and thought I'd seek advice here. I am doing the Cross Nationals in KC and my GF and I decided to just continue out to Littleton to visit her mom for Xmas. Anyway it will be the first time I've been out there with a bike, but of course it's not the best time of year I presume either.
Anyway in my home town there is a great group of folks who regularly meet at a local coffee shop and ride off for several hours. Anyone and everyone are welcome. Is there any sort of regular ride that you know of in either Boulder or Littleton/Denver area? It seems that this sort of thing is pretty typical so I'm sure there is a regular open group ride, I just don't know where.
Also if you know of any cross races in the area that would be great too. Thanks.

When are you coming out? We're getting snow right now, but, who knows, it could be gone in a few days and the weather "perfect" (or as perfect as it gets here) for riding!
Our last cross race of the season (the State Championships) was last weekend.
I don't have any studded tires so I guess I'll bring my skis just in case :)
I am leaving KS for Littleton on Sunday. I've been watching the weather out there and sure do hope it clears up for my drive. Sounds kind of nasty.
meh, its supposed to be in the forties by Sunday, bring your summer kit:D
brrrr, it was cold shoveling the 6-9 inches off the driveway this morning. My last ride was a couple of Sundays ago and goign up I had to walk a few switchbacks on Lookout mountain and I took the I70 frontage road down and was the coldest I have ever been on a bike, stopped for 20 minutes at a quickstop just to thaw.
Send a pm to Snowy, apparently this weather is nothing for her, she did a duathlon in the snow last weekend.
You can find me at spin class this coming weekend, like last wekend.......
Ha HA yeah I think it's the descents that would be the worst this time of year. I guess bringing a sheet or two of newspaper might help.
The 40s in winter barely allows much of anything to thaw.
It usually reaches that high for a short amount of time. The fact that the ground and most of the air is cold limits the thawing.
The more snow the smaller the melting effect it is. When we had our lovely winter weather last winter it would occasionally jump into the 50s. I would get excited that it would melt. All that happened was more ice would form. Oh joy.
Now if it jumps into the 60s...........:p
