I also have the performance tights and my legs have never been cold. In fact, you better get moving fast after you put them on or else your legs start to sweat. I wouldn't use them unless it was at least under 50 F.

There are a couple of recent discussions with lots of information if you just scroll back 2-3 pages or do a search.

Another vote for the AmFib. They are very good with Under Armor or the like underneath.

the MEC.ca tights are similar to the amfibs and cheaper....
i love mine and only add another layer on my legs when the temps drop below -30c...
i do wear some black windproof-like shorts to add an extra layer around the midsection... and mine aren't as tight as 'tights'... i got them a little loose for the extra layer option..

No pair of tights should be worn without a decent tutu

BIG fan of teh AmFibs here also. It's one of the many pieces of clothing you'll need this winter. :D

The AmFibs do great at blocking wind. I need another layer underneath them under 32° though, but I chill easily.
Sounds like the AmFibs are great for cold weather, how well do they work in rain? If it was 38 degrees F and raining, would these work by themselves or would they need to be used in conjunction with a rain pant?
