After much research on the forums I went and bought the Fenix Digital L2D Black Premium Q5 for $62. I used discount code CPF8 and got 8% off, plus free shipping. Can't wait for it to arrive, my current light is a Cateye HL-EL320 ! Ill keep the Cateye as a backup and a blinker.

What I dont understand is how it is going to produce so much light on just 2 AA's, while my cateye takes 4 AA's?

I ordered 2 on Dec.1st and got them today. I'm in Montreal. Georgia to Montreal in 7 days and no shipping or taxes. Good deal and a great light.

technology is wonderful:D Not jus teh light output that impresses me, is that 2.2hr run time I'm getting on turbo mode. That is longer and alot brighter then my dual Halogen Cygolite I paid 75 bucks for

It seems fenix is pretty popular for bike riding. Now i want a few... But i don't see how they are better than home made led setups, at least for biking. i was thinking of getting it as a pocket light, the 2xaa one.

If you don't have the tools to make one (good iron/drill/...) it makes a good move...
I gave up on a mod to a light and just got two of these lights...When I added up the cost of the tools I needed, I would have paid for the lights...as a renter I don't see the need to get more tools...
Love the lights and they supplement the 3 200Ls I have...

I used my helmet-mounted fenix for the first time in a dusky, foggy situation. I was a bit disappointed at barely being able to see the beam on the ground, but I did appreciate how anything reflective would blink blindingly at me.
On the other hand, it appears to work well as a strobe light letting people know that I exist. When I got to my daughter's school she was all "wow, that is bright even when you were on the top of the hill." We played w/ it on the way home and she was right. Even from 70-80 yards out, the strobe is very bright, almost too bright. I did notice that I was able to freeze a couple of cars just by looking at them on the way to the school, but I hadn't realized that I was blinding them. Feel bad now.
