Southern California - Tour de Santa Barbara III - Return of Madmax and the Thunderdome

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

That's true. But then again, we can aim for 100, pose at the summit (which we did LAST February) and then just take the train back in Carpenteria if we don't make it in time to SB.
Sounds like a good plan.
If we kept the stops a little shorter, we can probably get to Santa Maria in time.

It's multi-family owned. I think, if I recall correctly, there are 4 families who've pooled together to purchase the multi-acre property. Everyone lives in their own homes on the site, and the landscaping is done by one of the people who live there (it's great stuff, too). The hot-tub is shared space, as is everything else outside of the individual homes, really.
Everyone there is really, really cool. I've had loads of hours playing frisbee-golf around the compound - it gets pretty competitive. :)
I'm afraid that if you invite this particular group onto that compound, the families will be assimilated. Translation: no more frisbee golf. Just more centuries until your eyeballs explode.

Balcom is in Ventura County.
Going north, the last few hundred yards is pretty steep 15-18% or so. No real problem because it is short.
Going south is what people really enjoy, it is about 1 km of 20%+. That is the section the Tour of California has its last KOM mark. There are still street markings there from last year.
What's your profession JT? Everything you say is descript, concise, informative and pleasant. I gotta quit hanging around with surly comedians!:)

edit: I may be able to find some photos from the site (at the very least the view from the larger lawn area) later tonight. You probably won't be able to see the hot-tub though, as it's below grade (which makes it excellent for spending time in, of course). *ahem*
Might I suggest that you just post photos of yourself in the hot tub. That will give us the general idea of the compound. :D

I am Fred Garvin, male prostitute.
Well, Kidd, unwittingly, I gave you the wrong impression. I am a software developer but, honestly, I am a goofball. I take nothing seriously. I am going to have to spend more time making my posts look more authentic. Yo, dats ****tz (dang, I screwed that up, I am learning “hip” but I am a slow learner.).
Truth is, I am coasting now. I have nothing to worry about so life is easy. I am just here to have fun.
Oh, btw, Placid hates when I use quotes to emphasize things so I try to include that in a lot of my posts,

If I did that you'd miss the train back on purpose.
Tsk tsk. Especially for the ride organizer.

This ride organizer doesn't always need to be in the lead or in front or on top or...

Sorry for the delay, things have been busy. The photo of the lawn area is below (Where the person/figure is standing is a stairway down to the hot tub, off the cliff). A matter of perspective+scale: that person is about 6 ft. tall.
