i tried to watch it, and couldn't manage to sit through it. 'twas awful.

I'll elaborate. I don't like movies where the main purpose is to get laid. That was a very conscience decision on my part and kids don't need any more pressure in that department than they already have.

I also can't stand movies where people have to act idiotic for a joke. Give me witty and clever jokes any day over crap like that.

It's hard for me to imagine that any non-pron movie could add one iota to the teenage desire to get laid. A few jokes might even distract them for a few seconds.

Bettter sex than violence, imho.

But, I haven't seen this movie. I love the title and funk references in the clips.

I forgot the lines, but remember the physical comedy. The scene where Napoleon punches the uncle, climbs the fence and falls over the other side. Hilarious.

I'm telling ya, I posses all the adolescent awkwardness and sexual inexperience of a teenage Mormon missionary. Our nights of passion (and I use that term loosely) end with cramps, apologies, and the feelings of resentment.

I recommend this movie for all the scenes of Mclovin and the cops.

It was soooo bad that my wife and I watched 18 minutes of it at regular speed and had to fast-forwarded it at 10x speed on the DVD player just to be able to say we watched it.

Now, I know that my wife and I are slightly out of the target audience for the genre, but even when we were at that point in our lives we thought that stuff was horrible. But, we thought we would give it a chance.

It was so unimaginative, unoriginal, and non-creative that I can't believe it made it as far as it did (i.e. completed).

Just my opinion, of course, though I have no problem sharing it!!

Come on, that movie could have been written by a ******** elephant, or maybe it was.

YES! I wasn't too sure about the movie but it kind of grew on me the longer it went on. the whole Mclovin bit was pretty funny. There is some good stuff in there if you can make it through the initial raunchiness. Funny, but it can't beat Super Troopers for silliness, though!

Yeah I made the mistake of renting it. Guess I need more substance in my movies now. I think I would have really enjoyed it if I was still in my teens.

Saw it last night, first 40 minutes was good...last 1.5 hours was the worst movie I had seen. Would have been a worthwhile download, not worthy of a new release rent

Speaking of geeky humor, anyone else laughing at the sitcom Big Bang Theory? Older target audience, (not so much high pressure sex, Air and Sub I'm looking at you). They talk so fast I can't even follow them. See episodes at CBS website.

You all are crazy. Micheal Cera comedic timing if perfect in this movie. (thanks Arested Devolopment, one of the best sit coms ever) for those who don't know which one he is, he is the smaller of the two main characters. All and all this movie uses perfect language for that generation. The way they bash each other is perfect. Its excellently written.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. McLovin was just a hilarious execution.

EDIT: I just saw it for $1 at the cheap theatres...they have $1 movie Tuesdays!

I bit too much underage drinking, and absolutly overusing the work "****", but I can relate to running from cops and getting laid.

I am kinda surprised at the overall reaction but looking at the IMDB ratings, (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0829482/ratings) males under 18 and males between 18-29 rate the movie much higher that older audiences. But come on, anyone who went through high school can relate to the movie at some level. Besides its more realistic than American Freaking pie.. Oh and I thought Napoleon Dynamite was awesome as well.

I hated ND as well (actually this was funny, ND put me to sleep, 2x, I freaking hate that movie). Neither movie resembled my life at all, not the kids that went to school, not the teachers, nothing. Not even the jocks. American pie was a closer rendition as the friends were more diverse than the typical and unoriginal, dorks vs jocks mentality. That and they weren't afraid to get laid.

The mclovin thing was great (good shining moment of a dork kid coming into his own, his last sex scene put it right back to the NO reality alert), but even the liquor thing was off the rocker. Maybe its because I am up in canada, but we never had THAT many problems getting booze, and the freaking hot chicks NEVER humped monkeys with the dorks, no matter how drunk they were. And, in my school, the dork kid would have taken a run at the dork jock (seriously, a mullet and glasses, didn't resemble any jocks I knew, except me maybe), everything in there was the polar opposite of any reality I lived.

Oh and the adult party scene, that was closer to the highschool parties I remember, and seriously, did anyone ever go "oh oh...its in" **** off. I was once a virgin but I wasn't ********. I watched porn, got some tips and went to town, I sucked but I sure wasn't terrified of my own penis, and really practice with some lessons of older ladies, makes perfect. I hung out with the geeks and jocks and no one was like anyone in that movie.

Seriously, if that's the way kids are in high school where you guys were, I am sorry (actually I kind of take that back, if all the dorks were scoring with chicks that hot in your highschool, you lucky sons of *****es hahaha). The first 40 minutes were great, funny and "fresh"...then it became "not fresh" and started to suck, by the end I was picking up the case trying to figure out how much longer I would have to put up with the crap. Even my fiance who tends to love stupid fun movies couldn't take the length of it.

Ironically I do know cops like that, I was once busted at a party in a small town and the cops took the weed and beer and went off in the woods shotting their guns. Real jagoffs :D Lots of tangents in that bad review, but I had horrible expectations of the movie (I was expecting worse than ND), was REALLY impressed with the initial scenes, got my hopes up, only to be dashed by an unoriginal plot line of unrealistic behaviour and successes.

I miss the city for that. We have one in vancouver that does "off weeks"...so movies that were released and out of date you could go see 3 for 5$ or something ridiculous. Was probably the first date I took my fiance on when I first moved west, and had no money. To bad they don't have something like that here.

This gen?...my gen did it to. It wasn't new to me, but it was well executed, it had me busting in the beginning. I wish they had stuck with it more and stayed away from the penis section and the odd "loving" friends thing. Maybe I am to much of a loaner, but I have never felt that kind of strained love for a friend. When it was time to seperate we did....
