Classic & Vintage - cinelli 101 stem?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I've decided I'd like to have a longer stem on my derosa and the only thing I can find available right now in the size I want is the cinelli 101. Does anyone have any experience with this model? Is it really as ugly in real life as it looks in pictures? Should I wait til a 1A or 1R shows up?

what size do you need...PM me, and be sure to say if it's the early or late clamp diameter.

I think the 101 is fine looking stem, sure it wouldn't be appropriate on a '67 model B, but on the right build it could be a rather handsome addition.
p.s. God's bike has an XA.

It's for an early 80s bike, so the 101 a little out of period. At the time I bought it the 1R was the hot setup, which is what I have now. After riding another bike with a 1cm longer toptube and 1cm longer stem I have come to realize (after 25 years!) that the cockpit on the derosa is too short for me :D
The XA is sweet but I didn't find any of those floating in the bay :( I think the XA came out shortly after I bought the bike
I'm not sure why I care about period correctness. The bike has an ergo 9 speed drivetrain on it now anyway. Sometimes I think about putting the SR gruppo back on but I guess I've gotten lazy and like my indexed shifting :D

What size do you have and what size do you want? I may swap you.
One of us here has your period-correct 1A or 1R stem, believe me. post up the size that you want.
