Luis Pérez gets his first professional stage win.

Igor Gonzalez De Galdeano loses the golden jersey to his teammate, but ONCE maintains control and their is no time difference so he shouldn't be concerned, especially with 2 weeks of racing left.

Roberto Heras maintains good positioning for a run at the top spot on the GC.

Ivan Quaranta and Mario Cipollini dropped out. Cipollini was a no show for this mornings stage, and Ivan Quaranta dropped out 3 kms into the TTT yesterday. "It was a retirement that we knew was going to happen. He came just to let his team ride. He already said he wasn't in good condition". Vuelta director Enrique Franco said. Regarding Quaranta he explained "His case is incredible. We will account for that in the coming Vueltas".

And the Spainish people have to be happy with the top 15 spots all being held by Spainards.

I do hope someone steps in to sponsor ONCE as a complete team.
