Northern California - Only 226 Miles To Go!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

... and you're still riding in the rain?
Yeah, I'm not "crazy bike girl" for nothing. ;)
Actually my gear keeps me dry (not bad considering the spray off the cars on the San Mateo bridge), it's just been pretty cold.

I had an eight hour cold this year. I felt the symptoms, I rode the bike for 2 hours and it went away. My wife and daughters were the only ones who got sick from the cold this year.

Actually I think what I have is a sinus infection, not a cold. So at least I'm not contagious.

Have you had this for a while? Maybe its time to see a doctor.

I was sick, then got better, then went on a business trip and got sick again.
I suspect the doctor will tell me I just need to rest (which I'm not terribly good at).

Then you better start working on it. Resting, I mean.:)

I'm taking Augmentin right now for a sinus infection where my left orbital floor implant is.
Yucky.

I could give you lessons - I'm TOO good at it!
Lesson number one: TOMORROW is the first day of the rest of your life. :D
I did not set any real goals other than ride the bike enough to justify the amount of money I spent on it. Since it's closing in on the end of the year I'm going to hammer fest the time available. Friday I'm going to try Big Sean's Sierra Welch Creek trip, Quimby & Mt. Hamilton Sat. and B.O.B and something else on Sunday.

Man.. you guys ride alot!
My mileage has been eclipsed many times over in this thread.
I think I'd be a halfway decent rider if I rode as much as some of you! ;)

I didn't get my mileage goal this year, which was 5200 or so. I'll finish out the year with about 4,000. I did do three double centuries - Central Coast, Eastern Sierra and Knoxville.
This has been a tough year for me from the get go, with various events. But I've got a great husband, awesome friends and I'm healthy.
So next year... I'll go for that 5200 again and I'm aiming for 5 doubles - Solvang Spring, Devil Mountain, Central Coast, Tam and Knoxville.
I'll be doing some brevets as training rides for the doubles.

I thought it was supposed to rain today! Instead, it turned out to be a great day to ride - sunny, not TOO cold, not too much wind. I even swapped pulls for a while with a guy on a fixie, but we got split up when the road went downhill, and I could coast faster than he could pedal.
Counting today's 65 miles, I'm within 51 of my goal, and 8 days off to do it in!
