It's 5:32 am and I've just woken up. In a few hours I'll be riding off into the distance on the first day of a 32 day odyssey across Australia.
Anything that hasn't been prepared as yet is too late. It's now time to ride.
I've been waiting for this day for a couple of years.
The nerves are mixed with excitement as we head towards an incredible adventure.
Hobart - here we come.

So lets do it !
I'm ready .... or at least I think I am.
Thanks for the message Joe.
Hey David - It's finally arrived.
Good luck... and keep us updated, dude!
Stay safe!
Koffee
I'll keep an eye out for the happy trails left in your wake... best of luck and I'll try and catch up and donate with you all when you arrive in Adelaide!
Great job Rodney, I'll look forward to reading your updates.
Go Rodney! My words are not enough, so here are some of His for your trip...
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17 NIV
I'll be looking forward to reading your reports, Godspeed.:)
There's not a lot of internet access along the way. The first day went very well.
We rode 97km with most of it being hilly. We started the hilly section on Greenmount hill which goes up for 6km.
All were tired but exhilliarating after the first day.
We have 32 riders and 8 support crew.
I'll post pictures if I can get to more than an internet booth.
I'm finally starting to add a few pics.
Here's part of the team in Forrest Place in the centre of Perth getting ready for our send off.
The second shot is me addressing the crowd and letting people know what we are about to do.
The third shot is me on the road on the first day.
Official Statisitcs for Day One:
Distance - 101.24 km
Time - 4:10
Average - 24.2
So Rodney, what now?
By the way, Congratulations on an awesome ride!
Lots of smaller rides with another big one in 2006.
