Classic & Vintage - Cinelli Identification??

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Can anyone help me identify this model Cinelli - I am just finishing up a build project on the same frame. Mine had a re-spray and came from Italy and I was convinced it was not a Cinelli because the only identifying Cinelli feature were the decals. Come on Cinelli guru's please help me out. Mike

Not a cinelli that I have ever seen. The frame is fillet brazed, and the fork is a unicrown. the closest that I can come without a big fat web search would be a late 80's Ritchey...If that were true (one of the Ritchey-torched ones) it may be worth more than the cinelli that the stickers were intended for!

it looks to me like an early/ mid 90's Genius Strada
Luker and Caterham,
This what I found online when Caterham pointed me in the right direction. Their is a brief mention under GVH bikes as well and Sheldon Brown. My seatpost measurement doesn't align with Sheldon's data base, but may it's pinched we are carefully reaming it out we won't push it so it will be either a 26.8 or a 27 and Sheldon says it should be a 27.2.
Again the only 2 bikes I have seen of this Cinelli model came from Italy - Caterham I see you are in Seattle and this bike is in Seattle at Wright Brother Cyclworks in Fremont.
Cinelli GENIUS STRADA
Frame built using fillet brazing on Genius tubes with ultra-short
butting, specifically designed by Columbus for TIG welding. The
secret of this unusual combination lies in the brazing material, a
special alloy with high silver content, with a very low melting
point, which allows the tubes to be joined without overheating them
and changing their mechanical characteristics. The results are
superb. The elements blend seamlessly into each other, achieving
the best distribution of stresses over the structure, and
satisfying the most refined eye. A classic examples of how, by
looking for the solution to technical highest quality: Campagnolo
Record groupset, San Marco saddle with titanium structure, Cinelli
Grammo titanium stem. The range of colours is exclusive: Black
Night Soft Touch, Nautilus Copper Soft Touch, China Blue soft
Touch.
Oh yes and what through me for a loop was the ebay example has a extreme hodge podge of non peroid specific campagnolo equipment which he seems like he put on the frame to sell it .

genius should require a 27.2. I'd agree that the seatlug is pinch-crimped. 27.0 should be okay if you fear overdoing the reaming.
good luck and post a pic or ten when it's finished. i'd like to see how it turns out.
best,

Now that we know it was orginally 27.2 we should be able to ream it to that, unfounately I aquired two 26.8 high end fluted seatposts not knowing the exact size oh well that's just the breaks of life - if you know where there are any other pictures of this model I'd appreciate it. It it just a little wierd that other than the decals nothing says Cinelli on the frame although the serial numbers coorespond to the Cinelli dating scheme.
