Howdy,

I'm a newbie, but I'm riding more everyday...just bought a new jersey that I really want to wear but seems to be a bit big on me. Does anyone know a safe way to shrink it down a size or two without ruining it?

Most cycling jerseys are made from some form of polyester fabric. One of the properties of polyseter is that it resists shrinking. However, since it is basically a thermo plastic, heat will cause it it shrink to some extent. Wash the jersey in hot water (separately from any other garment) and dry on a relatively high temperature (not the highest setting on the dryer). This may not shrink the garment enough to fit. If it does not - repeat the process. The colors should not fade appreciably.

Can't you just exchange the jersey for another size? Sounds like you haven't worn it yet. That material won't shrink.
