Foo - OK, I have to give it up to Texas this once.

A lot of Oklahoma and Kansas is without power due to the ice storms. Well, as I'm driving to work this morning on I-240 I see a long line of power company service trucks going north. 12 of them going to the rescue. I couldn't read the signs on the doors but the front couple of trucks were flying big Texas flags. So, thanks Texas.

I watched trucks heading north on I-35 this morning and thought about ya'll up there in Oklahoma. Stay safe.

Yup.....seen the lines of trucks from many different states, many different times in Florida. We needed bailing out from hurricanes once or twice every year.

I'm heading up there to steal all the cooper laying on the ground, hope I don't get shocked.

Since it is spelled copper, and you got that wrong, I vote electricity will win your tag team match.

And I see crews coming up here from all over the South, including FPL, to rescue us when we have winter storms like the one in OK.

You just hadn't gotten around to your liquid lunch yet, which frees up the imagination. We are an hour ahead of you in this regard. ;)

I just drove across that whole area (across MO, KS and into CO) and there were power trucks and tree trimming companies (Alplundh et al) all over the place. Whole convoys of them.

Whole convoys of them.Yeah, the news said we have crews from 7 states as far away as Mississippi and Indiana. Even with all the extra help there are still about 200,000 without power. It's now been 3+ days. But They're doing the best they can. The parts of OKC that got hit the worst look like either a tornado hit or a war zone. And we get to look forward to 2 to 6 inches of snow tomorrow and Saturday. Yay :D.

My hat is off to whoever it is. Texas, Arkansas, other. I'm seeing trucks around here(SW MO) that I have never seen the logos before. Have no idea where they came from, but God bless 'em if they help get our power back on faster. Five days and still no word of when it might be back on.

Our power stayed on but everywhere I've been there's been someone who is without power. Co-workers, my doctor, the phlebotomist that stuck my arm, etc.. My parents house is in an older area that has overhead utilities and had lots of big trees. They've been off since Sunday night. We've been checking on them regularly and taking them batteries and kerosene for a heater my brother in law gave them. We can't talk them into leaving. They tell us they're fine.

My wife's employer has a sales office in Tulsa. Four out of the five people in that office were without power as of close of business yesterday.

I cannot imagine what the devastation looks like in person. It really hurts for me to think of all the giant oak trees I used to play on as a boy in Edmond and Eufala decimated by ice.
