Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - My new Tool

A whooping 9'' and 7oz. Its got a lockring, cog, and axle nut tool. $10 I just slapped on some 1/8 chain.

Let us know how that lockring wrench works.

Now only if it had teeth for a standard Shimano bottom bracket on it! Looks good. Do let us know how it works, I'm in the market for such a tool.

hmmm. somebody i know has one of these. was it goldenskeletons? i think so. anyway, whoever it was was really disappointed with the quality.

I broke the lockring part of mine the first day I got it.

Granted I was being a dumbass and tightening it instead of loosening but still. My LBS replaced it asap and I haven't had a problem. I found the chainwhip to be kinda worthless on there. I need to splice in a 1/8 extension.

i got one of these. it worked stellarly to get the BB lockring off of something i remember but i haven't actually changed a cog yet. i'm sure it will work great. this thing is thick and the bend fits perfectly on the lockring, makes it not want to try to slip off or anything. good stuff.

I have it and would not recommed it to anyone. I still use the chainwhip part, but the lockring wrench end sucks. I purchased the Hozan lockring pliers soon after and have had no complaints.

I wasn't expecting to much for $10. But I think it should work fine for emergency use. It does cut down on the number tools I have to carry. I was able to get my lockring and cog off with it, but don't buy it if your going to use it as a primary shop tool.

This thing is totally useless on lockrings. The arc of the wrench is too shallow, and the tooth is rounded. These two things working together mean that you get practically no engagement (at least I didn't, I run a Miche lockring).

That's the one I have.. love it! The spring that keeps the chain tensioned while on the cog is really helpful.

One question, can those dura-ace chain whips take 3/32 chain as well?

well you can run a 3/32" cog under an 1/8" chain so i dont' see why using the DA whip on a 3/32" chain would pose any problems...

I am very happy with the DA whip/lock ring wrench combo tool too. Nicely made, works great, and cheap.

I don't think you could mount one without shaving off some material.. but you don't really need 3/32" unless you need to deal with cassettes frequently. With the 1/8" chain I've been able to get one off by using the smallest cog..
