Classic & Vintage - Ebay Question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone deal with "Sultan of Shwag" on Ebay??? I have sent several pm's to him asking a question for one of his auctions and no replies. Is he reputable??
Even with good feedback, it always bothers me when a seller does not reply to questions.
Thanks all, merry xmas

Yes he is very reputable. His items are as described. I have bought one item from him before with no problems. shipping was prompt. He won't burn you. The reason he does not respond is probably because he is so busy getting more vintage parts.
He is located just a half an hour from here. I sent him an e-mail simply asking "where do you find this stuff." No reply. I would not hesitate to buy from him. Others in the classic forum have recommend him also. Good luck.

I have bought thousands of dollars of stuff from him. Always satisfied. He is a busy man.

I concur, he is OK!
Bought several items from him, always pleased. He once responded to my request for the tracking number... the day after it was delivered! :D

I informed him once that a frame he was selling was a Peugeot PR10 and not a PX10. He thanked me, but did not correct his listing. Just last week I told him that a wheelset with Normandy hubs he had listed as 8 speed freehub was obviously a freewheel. He waited until the auction closed to email me to say that the mistake was not intentional.
I've bought lots of stuff from him in the past and I've had no problems, but I don't completly trust him anymore. I'm bidding on one of his parts right now, but only because I can't find it anywhere else.
+1 on all of the above. I've only bought a couple of things, but between those, and the auctions which I've followed, it also seems that his stuff is at least an 8 on a 10 scale ... no beater crud.
thanks all, appreciate the feedback..take it easy

Yep, always clean items and revealed with good photos. Don't be put off if you get no e-mail replies from him. Not one for chit-chat and probably just a busy guy. His stuff has always arrived promptly, and just as described, so nothing really need be communicated, anyway. :)

I've bought a few things from him, and one time it took a follow-up email to actually get the item shipped to me (with nary an apology!), but he seems generally to be one of the better high-volume eBay sellers.

The same thing happened to me once, but he was really nice about it, as well as offering a sincere apology.
I can live with that.
