Foo - ebay bargain

Possibly just scored a "like new" Nicolai mtb :D of e-bay for less than 1/3 of list :eek: . Wasn't going to tell anyone but my BF induced angst got the better of me.

eBay is very good if you're looking for lesser known (in the US) brands.

If you want Trek/Giant/Cervelo/Kona/Colnago/Cannondale/etc. you're gonna get hammered.

I scored a Wilier frame (with Dedacciai U2 tubing, ultra light stuff) for $300.

It was all going so well.

Initially good comm's with the seller then he decides he can't accept paypal as his no longer works. The bike is ex-demo not "like new" and, finally, the seller is in Switzerland but wants me to wire the money to his mate in Germany.

I can get a cheap flight to near his location for less than GBP150 so I'll threaten to turn up on his doorstep to collect and see what he says.

He's got 70 positive ratings (100%) mostly from selling stuff so, at this stage, I'm still inclined to give him the benefit of doubt but wire my hard earned clams to his mate.....yeah.....right!

I *knew* I'd jinxed it.

This is getting more expensive by the minute :( - trip to Switzerland booked with youth hostel accomodation so I don't have to sleep on my bags in the airport.

So far the seller hasn't refused to meet me so it looks as though, inspite of the please pay someone else request, he's ok and I'm paranoid. :D Well, I knew the last part already. :o
