hi all!
i just got from ebay a nice fixed hub with sprocket and lockring tight, i wonder if there a way to remove the sprocket without clamping the hub shell or ruining the finish of this campy hub.
thanks a lot!

This (like everything) has been covered before. Someone said that they'd done it by wedging the hub in a bench vise with some wood and torquing the cog off with a chainwhip. Someone else mentioned lacing the NDS up and seeing if that gave the wheel enough strength to pull the cog off.
Good luck.

I'd just lace in about 8 or so spokes (loosely) to a junk rim and go at it.
i thought sheldon wrote something about it but could not find it

Its a real PITA when folks do this, its just bad form to sell a hub with a cog and lockring that haven't been broken free.
Folks have pretty much covered it, either use a bench vice (though depending on how tight things are, you may not have enough leverage or be able to prevent the hub shifting) + wood, or re-lace the hub to a junk rim and do it that way.
Either way its going to be a pain.

True, but this, (like everything) is nearly impossible to find using bikeforum's broken search function. (another kick to the dead horse)
thanks all!

Stick the cog side of the hub up the *** of the idiot who cut it out before removing the cog and lockring and turn.
you may be able to use an oil-filter wrench on the drive side hub flange, if it is a high-flange hub.

I'd use some sort of band-clamp pipe wrench on the hub. Might have to mount it in a frame to rotafix the cog off. I haven't done this before, just saying how I'd go about it.
