Foo - Gifts for your business customers?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For those of you who deal b-2-b, do you send out some holiday gifts to thank your clients? We wrestle with this each year. Our usual is to send out the big basket of holiday chow to the big customers, the medium to the mediums, and a bunch of small ones to the people who may not buy a lot, but are consistent customers of some years. What kinds of things do you folks do for your clients, and what are your philosophies behind giving to different spending levels? I would also like to know if you have decided to do nothing at all, and how you arrived at your decision.
I say give them neon clocks with your company logo on them. I think there was post on here a few days back where you could find more ideas.
Most of our clients are big retailers. They have very strict non compensation clauses, so we are prohibitied from giving them gifts even if we wanted.

I never worked any place that stayed in business long enough to worry about sending out gifts...
Gie those 'Hunting anal tool' things that were in another thread...
You could get them engraved.

Some customers are so good, they'll put you out of business.
Don't give nice gifts to the deadbeats.

We can only send X-mas cards to our customers. New, stringent ethics rules were brought in a few years ago. About 15 years ago it was common place for us to receive bottles from our vendors. Those were the days :)
