Can some one give me an opinion on a 12 speed bike I have never road biked and a freind wants to sell one? I dont know what sprocket teeth but are most about the same I just want to know if they are good for hills and flat land speed? One more ? I have seen people talk bout the Metric Century what is that?

Hmmm... could you be a little more vague? :D Not all bikes have the same gearing combinations. You do need to mention the chainring sizes and rear cluster... at least the highest and lowest teeth counts. Also, what kind of hills are we talking here? Do you know some of the grades you'll be encountering? What's your fitness level like?

A metric century is 100km which is a tad over 62 miles.
